Job Description
 
Actively support the Hess commitment to Environment, Health and Safety including:
  • adopting and promoting personal work practices and procedures in accordance with the Hess Environment, Health and Safety Management System standards;
  • provide leadership to project teams on EHS issues;
  • ensuring that EHS considerations are adequately taken into account in the design, construction, and installation of the facilities; and
  • continuously communicate to contractors the Hess expectations for EHS. 
 
Provide process engineering advice during the project development and execution phases including, but not limited to:
 
  • provision of specialist process engineering support to project execution activities;
  • ensuring appropriate engineering standards and specifications are defined and complied with,
  • respond to Contractors process engineering technical queries, as appropriate;
  • provide recommendations, input and direction to the Contractors process engineering design effort in order to facilitate progress and to achieve fitness for purpose;
  • review and where necessary verification of design and engineering activities; ensuring process engineering deliverables comply with the project design and operation philosophies established in the design basis and/or performance specifications;
  • participation in Hazard Studies and risk assessments as required;
  • review requisitions, TBE and vendor documentation for process equipment;
  • reviewing commissioning plans and procedures; and
  • support to construction and commissioning activities. 
 
Provide process engineering advice to Operations personnel during the operations phase including but not limited to:
  • assist in the troubleshooting of plant operational problems;
  • assist in plant optimization to improve plant efficiency and/or increase production;
  • conduct and/ or coordinate process investigations into process problems or opportunities;
  • assist in the pre-commissioning and commissioning of new or modified plant or equipment;
  • investigate,  engineer and expedite plant modifications or operational changes that are justified by operational, safety, environmental or commercial considerations. 
Desired Profile
Skills/Competencies:Familiarity and ability to use Microsoft Office products.Good communicator in the English Language.Team Player.Ability to prepare input into weekly and monthly progress reports.Ability to integrate with the Contractor personnel and encourage performance by exampleExperience:Good Command of English language and effective communicator in English.University graduate in a related engineering discipline with a minimum of 15 years experience in offshore process facilities design, PFD and P&ID development, etc. Proficient in process engineering calculation i.e. mass and energy balances, hydraulics, equipment, sizing and rating, relief calculations, etc. Experience in the application of cause and effect diagrams and the use of API standards (API 14C, 520, 521 etc)Experience with process system control design and development of control philosophies.Experience in the use and application of process simulation software (Hysys, PROII etc)Experience in the support and contribution of project development teams and management of contractors.Demonstrated ability in process system design and testing. Vendor document review activities.Education/Training:Degree in Engineering from a recognised University Primary Location : Southeast Asia-Malaysia-Kuala Lumpur-Kuala LumpurSchedule : Full-time
